The Joy Awards 2023
Joy Awards is the largest ceremony to recognise and honour artistic achievements of the Arab world. Working alongside Done + Dusted, Black Skull Creative and Stufish design architects, Hello Charlie were tasked with establishing the holistic look and feel of this relatively new award show. An opulent graphic language was established to define the direction of both the broadcast graphics, and the complex radial set design of host and performance visuals.
Broadcast Graphics
The client wanted our designs to celebrate Arabic culture and sensibilities by using classic design tropes of the Arabic World. The proud heritage of Arabs’ relationship with the falcon featured heavily as our key visual mascot.
Initially pursuing a striking design style that reflected the falcon in a rainbow of colours, it was decided to create a more consistent colour scheme of golden hues to establish more of a classic approach, in line with Arabic heritage.
Performance Graphics
Hello Charlie created screen content for seven performances throughout the ceremony ranging in energy, style and tone.
