Commonwealth Games 2022
The Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022 is a global event with a staggering demographic of 1 billion and a local spectator audience of 1.1 million. The games were ‘inclusive’ by design and elevated the sports on display.
Through the use of protection mapping we helped to engage, inform and excite the audience. The projection sequences were used pre-games, during and post games, raising the drama but importantly to raise production value and help keep the audience informed.

Netball
The requirement throughout the games was a sense of ‘inclusivity’. Not all spectators would have strong understanding of each sport, so the design and animation across the projection mapping needed to be capable of informing the audience through entertainment.
We created striking animation sequences that introduced the audience to the world of Netball and the essential rules of the game. Throughout the event the projection was used to sign post key moments enabling the enjoyment and understanding of the sport.

Gymnastics
The floor needed to be established as the arena for the athletes to perform. Working with dancers in a choreographed sequence we developed animation that tracked, amplified and enhanced their motion. The animation reacts to their movement and is in complete synchronicity throughout.
Badminton
As one of the oldest sports within the games, badminton has a wealth of history to draw upon. The sequences take the audience on a journey from its Victorian origins to present day. Gently educating though vibrant animation and projection mapping techniques.
