Inside Einstein’s Mind
Inside Einstein’s Mind tells the story of Albert Einstein’s General Relativity Theory, the most powerful and elegant theory in science. To mark the 100th Anniversary of general relativity, the BBC/NOVA film takes us inside Einstein’s thought process, to witness how his idea evolved and giving us insights into the birth of a theory that has become a cornerstone of modern science. When Einstein presented his theory in 1915, it turned the understanding of space, gravity and time on its head.

Einstein liked to think in pictures which became the foundation of our creative, developed into a tactile and artistic set of content sequences and explanatory design. Our graphic work spanned art direction, design and visual effects, creating a unique and personal illustrative vision of Einstein’s mind and how his theories were born and evolved.
Our work for the film ‘looked’ through the eyes and mind of Einstein, projecting his thought processes within his study, visually illustrating shards of information, emotion and memory. Using unusual but familiar metaphors and props such as a model railway, explanations of his theories and processes were designed to inform the viewer in a magical, creative and purely visual way. Beginning in the young Einstein’s mind, we learn about the physical world and extremes of modern physics.
