98th Academy Awards
Bespoke content for the set design of the 98th Academy Awards
After a 4 year hiatus, one of the most successful bands of recent years, BTS, hosted a comeback concert live from the historic Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul. We worked alongside Done + Dusted to deliver the screen visuals and broadcast assets for the 12 track, one hour set livestreamed on Netflix.

The event was live streamed on Netflix to a total of 18.4 million global viewers, and in more than 190 countries, including South Korea. The broadcast topped Netflix’s rankings in 24 countries.
DESIGNING THE BACKDROP
Award winning production designer Florian Wieder created a monolithic stage set covered with high resolution LED screens that perfectly framed the 14th Century gateway to the Royal Palace. Behind the futuristic gateway the palace walls were also illuminated with the video projectors creating an extra dimension to the show.

Hello Charlie designed and produced the visuals and projection for all 12 tracks. Working with this bespoke and complex set design we created a multitude of distinct visual tableaus that seamlessly integrated into the band’s dynamic on-stage performance.

The Korea Institute of Culture and Tourism estimated that the economic ripple effect of the performance was up to 1.2 trillion Won.
